John M. Smart, President is a computer scientist, author, technologist and visionary  for Controlled English. Mr. Smart has degrees in computer science and electronic publishing from the Rochester Institute of Technology, NY.  He has 20 years of experience in software development, systems integration, electronic publishing and information technology. He is an author and frequent speaker at technical documentation conferences around the world. Albert J. LaMothe, Director of Linguistics manages the SMART Translator software, language databases and teaches the English classes. Mr. LaMothe is fluent in five languages and has 24 years of experience as a commercial translator, simultaneous interpreter and English teacher.  He is an Adjunct Professor of  Translation Studies at New York University, New York.
