Here is a list of the common problems and solutions. It is small because the software is easy to use.

How to Remove MAXit from my FrameMaker menu.	Find the file maker.ini in the Adobe folder and search for maxwin.dll. Put a semi-colon in front of that line to deactivate MAXit inside FrameMaker. Remove the semi-colon to activate.
Remove MAXit from my WORD menu.	Use the Microsoft Search tool to find the file maxwin.wll in the Microsoft Office folder. Remove maxwin.wll to remove MAXit. You can use the Tools->Addins to deactivate.
Can not run MAXit for WORD2003, WORD2007	Contact us for the .COM versions for WORD2003 and WORD2007.
I never see any MAXit errors?	If your sentence is well-written, there are no MAXit messages.
Can I use the maxwin.dll for all versions of FrameMaker from 6.0 to 7.2.	Yes, but each maker.ini must have the same entry.
I want to remove my MAXit evaluation.	Use the Windows Uninstaller. Then for FrameMaker, find the Adobe maker.ini file and remove the three lines marked for the MAXit Checker. For Word2000, search for maxwin.wll and remove. See first item.
FrameMaker: How do I see the messages?	Use the CLAW sequence. Put the cursor on the colored word, then press Control + Alt + left mouse.
FrameMaker: Can I change the CLAW?	The CLAW sequence, Ctrl+Alt+Left mouse is set by Adobe.
FrameMaker crashes after reinstallation of Framemaker.	The problem is in your Adobe maker.ini. You can not have two maxit.dll entries. Contact support@smartny for a correction.
Can I run MAXit with the Mekon Eclipse tool?	Yes - but ask us for a menu configuration file.
MAXit menu for FrameMaker does not appear after reinstallation of FrameMaker.	You must also reinstall MAXit for FrameMaker. Use the same serial number.
Word: My MAXit tool bar has vanished.	Click on the MAXit menu and look for "Restore Tool bar."
Word: All messages are yellow.	Reset your highlight tool to "none". See Handbook.
Can I change the colors for the MAXit messages?	No - the colors are preset to five.
FrameMaker: All messages appear as black markers.	Some BLACK markers are real index markers which MAXit ignores. Check your color definitions. Check for "clipped" markers as shown in the handbook. Each marker must be linked to a color.
Can I get a Sun Solaris version of PTC Arbortext Editor 5.x or FrameMaker 7.x?	Yes - ask us we support SUN Solaris version 9/10 including the Ultra20 AMD platform.
Why do I need the MAXitServer for XMetaL, Arbortext Editor and UltraXML.	These tools do not have a formal API and require the MAXitServer to do the analysis over TCP/IP.
